Hulu Recommends
Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Looks like Hulu is beta testing their recommendation engine.
Of the shows listed, I've watched them all during my life but not all on Hulu, so I guess I'd say its working okay. Of course, recommending a show that I haven't seen, but would enjoy, would be much better. At least it has its own RSS feed.

It's Official, Hulu Sucks
Tuesday, April 01, 2008
I learned today that its not just recent television shows that "expire" from Hulu's directory, but also feature films. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it (I'm sure there is, but they don't share that logic) its just that some things go away.

That sucks. Not just from my point of view as someone who uses Hulu as a primary source for entertainment but also as a blogger who likes clipping and posting content from the shows they have on-line.

Why Hulu Might Suck
Tuesday, March 25, 2008
I've been a fan of Hulu for a while now, and still am for the most part. But I logged in today to 1) delete all of the crappy 'web exclusives' and 'recaps' from my playlist and 2) see if there was anything new that I'd missed by following their "what's new" RSS feed.
What I found was that some of the episodes that I had not yet watched were gone... expired! I didn't know there was a time limit on some of these. (And I say "some of these" because it doesn't appear that all shows are set to expire.)
That kinda sucks.

I'm Loving Hulu; One Tip
Wednesday, March 19, 2008
Now that Hulu has opened to the public, they've cleaned up the interface a bit and I am really digging the service. My only complaint is that when I subscribe to a series through the site's interface (like The Riches) my queue gets loaded with 10-20 clips and "web exclusives" that I don't care about.
One way I have found around this is by using the new RSS feeds they've set up for each television show. Now I can simply subscribe to a show , such as "The Riches", and new episodes appear in my Google Reader ready to launch, in order of airing I might add, without all the clips and promos. Sweet!
And playing full screen on the living room TV from a Mac Mini, the shows look as good if not a little better than my wife's Tivo. And oh yea, here's a little 2 minute clip showing off some of Hulu's features.

No Hulu Love? We're in Good Company.
Wednesday, November 07, 2007
Still haven't received your invite into Hulu? Me neither. Its seems though that neither has Adam Curry or John Dvorak. In the second episode of No Agenda the two talk about how they can't get in, the writer's strike in Hollywood, unions, and more. You can download the espisode here, or I've placed it in my podcast channel if you want to subscribe to this and other shows I find interesting.
