No Cash for iPhones

I understand the "2 per customer" rule, but why wouldn't Apple accept cash from customers buying iPhones?

Because Apple makes $18 per phone per month from AT&T, and they know cash buyers are likely to be covering their tracks. They're buying iPhones for resale. At least, that's the logic I hear, anyway.

The more I think about it, I figure its so they can actually track how many you've purchased... it'd be hard to limit customers to only 2 if someone can drive all over town and buy two from every store with cash.

It must be nice to have so much business that you can actually tell some customers "no, we don't want your cash."
