Hey. My name is Russell Holliman. I'm a professional project manager by day, and one of the founders of Podcast Ready by night. This is my blog about life on the web, life in general, and random things I find here and there.

Yahoo Mail: Is This For Real?

I was playing with an iPhone tonight and read that the only way to get "push" email is to use a Yahoo email account. So I resurrected an old account I had and set it up on the phone. To test the email, I sent myself messages from Yahoo.

Every time I did though, it gave me one of those really annoying verification tests. Does Yahoo make all their users do this every time they send a message? It did for me all three times I sent an email... so I quit.

E-mail interfaces are interesting. I began to use the one on the MUSIQ part of the Ambassador program. Their Gmail interface is horrible and not user friendly in any manner. I don't remember if Yahoo Mail is an option, and I'd bet it's just as ugly as you've discovered.

Are you using the Gmail mobile site or that actual application? I loaded the application on the Upstage and the Musiq and found it to be pretty good. The number keys are assigned to common functions (delete, archive, etc) so it worked pretty well for me.

The mobile web site though I found to really suck :)
