Out to put a dent into Apple's iPod dominance, former Apple employee Tim Bucher has started a new company: Zing. As described here on gigaom, its a new standard for connected devices that allows them to stream music from subscription services via bluetooth or WiFi.
A portable device that uses RF signals to receive, decode, and play music... sounds like a radio to me.
Sorry - couldn't resist. Actually, it sounds very cool. Not enough details though to know how it compares to the likes of Soniqcast.

Speaking of an interesting media player and trying to put a dent into Apple market share:
Check out www.idont.com
Sandisk has a new series of Sansa mp3 players and has taken a different approach to marketing against the ipod. They are attacking the ipod culture head on with T-shirts etc.
It will be interesting to see the response and reaction. - At 2:32 PM, Adam Zand said...

Where can I buy those shirts? - Hilarious. I see that they post logo slick for download but I don't want to make my own unofficial shirt as an art project.
Russell, it would also would make a nice "screen image" for a future MP3 or phone distribution partner (ha ha)
