Mossberg on Podcasting
Thursday, July 07, 2005
Walter Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal weighs in on podcasting. Conclusion: still way to complicated for the average user to create and distribute a podcast.
Even though he did not consider using Blogger’s blog/audioblogger service with Feedburner, or Openpodcast.org’s “open mic” environment, I think he’s right.
Most folks won’t want to simply record themselves talking and post it to the world. They’ll want slick intoductions, music fades, sound effects, etc. And that right now takes more time, effort, and imagination that most want to commit.
Not mention the fact that most don’t even know where to begin…
