Another Sign That Houston Media Just Does Not Get It
Wednesday, May 25, 2005
On a day when NBC and ABC are jumping on the podcast bandwagon, and in a month that has seen the debut of Podshow on Sirius radio as well as “Open Source Radio” on KYOU, Houston’s own KPFT radio gets in on the game. Well, sort of.
At least they are referring to MP3 players when describing their new show set to air this Tuesday from 4am – 6am. Ernesto Aguilar, the program director, just handed Dwight (a host of “Technology Bytes” on KPFT Wednesdays) during tonight show stating:
i'll be incorporating your idea of playing mp3 lists/players on-the-air, starting Tuesday morning, 4-6 a.m. email ernesto@kpft.org if ppl are interested.
After a little clarification in the IRC chat that occurs during every show, they really are asking folks to bring in their MP3 players and they will play it’s contents (presumably in a random order) for two hours.
I am going to submit my player loaded with podcasts. Any suggestions?
